Is this just the beginning and will users have to pay millions more VND for smartphones in the near future if component prices continue to escalate?
According to new leaked information from news source WangzaiKnowsEverything on Weibo, Honor is preparing to adjust the price of the Honor WIN gaming phone line. The increase was revealed to be about 300 Yuan, equivalent to nearly 1,100,000 VND at the current exchange rate. This is considered a continuation of the ongoing price increase trend across the smartphone industry as component costs, especially memory and important hardware components, continue to escalate.
The Honor WIN series currently has a starting price of around 2,699 Yuan, while the standard version is priced from 3,999 Yuan. Previously, the WIN RT version was adjusted by Honor by 300 Yuan in March. The new source said that the upcoming adjustment may apply to the entire product line.
Expected price list after increase
Version Current price Expected increase Expected new price
Honor WIN RT About 9,800,000 VND About 1,100,000 VND About 10,900,000 VND
Honor WIN About 14,500,000 VND About 1,100,000 VND About 15,600,000 VND
It's worth noting that Honor isn't the only brand adjusting prices. This year, many major companies have confirmed or revealed that they will increase product prices to compensate for increasing production costs.Price trend comparison table

Apple Prepares to increase prices of some future iPhone generations due to production costs
The biggest reason comes from the shortage of memory supply, sharp increase in memory chip prices, higher semiconductor production costs and increased prices of many components such as OLED screens, camera sensors, batteries and processor chips. This causes manufacturers' profit margins to shrink, forcing many companies to transfer part of their costs to retail prices.
In addition to smartphones, previous sources also said that Honor may adjust prices for laptops and tablets in the near future. However, the application date and official increase have not yet been confirmed by Honor.
If this information becomes reality, Honor will join the group of major technology companies that are simultaneously raising device prices this year. Users planning to buy high-end smartphones or gaming devices may have to consider buying early before the new price adjustments are applied.
