Will Samsung extending software support for up to 6 years be enough to convince users to choose Galaxy A27 5G instead of competitors from Xiaomi, Motorola or Nothing?
On June 25, 2026, Samsung Electronics officially announced the Galaxy A27 5G on the global Samsung Newsroom. This is a new smartphone model in the Galaxy A series, succeeding the Galaxy A26 5G with many upgrades in performance, screen and AI features to serve daily use needs.
The most noticeable change is that the Galaxy A27 5G switched to an Infinity O screen with a punch-hole front camera instead of the water drop design on the previous generation. Samsung also reduced the screen bezels to increase display area and provide a more modern viewing experience.
The device uses a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, Full HD resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor manufactured on a 4 nm process, combined with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory, supporting expansion with a microSD card up to 2 TB.
Samsung also upgraded the front camera to a 12 MP sensor to improve selfie capabilities in complex lighting conditions. The rear camera system includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS optical image stabilization, a 5 MP super wide-angle camera and a 2 MP macro camera.
Regarding software, Galaxy A27 5G is installedAvailable Android 16 with One UI 8.5. Samsung confirmed that the device will receive up to 6 new versions of Android and One UI along with 6 years of security updates. The device also integrates Samsung Knox Vault to enhance user data protection. In addition, the new Galaxy A series also expands the Awesome Intelligence feature set with Circle to Search, Object Eraser, Voice Transcription and the ability to choose AI assistants such as Google Gemini, Perplexity and Bixby.

Galaxy A27 5G will be sold in some markets from early July 2026. In New Zealand, Samsung confirmed the product will be available from July 17, 2026 with three colors: Black, Blue and Light Pink. Samsung has not announced the official selling price for all markets in the same global announcement.
