Will Apple create a new push for the folding phone market or is this still just a rumor that needs to wait for official confirmation?
According to information spread from leaked source Fixed Focus Digital, the folding screen iPhone model often referred to by the community as iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold is said to have overcome production expansion problems and is still aiming to launch in September 2026. However, up to now, Apple has not confirmed the existence, name or launch schedule of this product.
Previously, many reports from analysts and media said that Apple was having difficulty increasing production of folding screens, hinges and the supply chain, raising the possibility of the product being pushed back to late 2026 or 2027. A new report from Fixed Focus Digital denies this statement and believes that the development plan is still on schedule. However, sources are still not completely consistent, so this information is currently only at the rumor level and has not been confirmed by Apple.
If Apple really introduces a folding iPhone model at the September 2026 event, this will be the first time the company participates in the folding screen phone market after many years of Samsung, Huawei, Honor, Google and Motorola developing this product line. Many experts believe that Apple chose the time when folding screen technology was matureto limit issues of durability, folding, and usage experience.
Some recently leaked information also suggests that the device may use a book-like horizontal folding design with an internal screen of about 7.7 inches, an external screen of about 5.3 inches and be positioned in the super high-end segment. However, all of these parameters have not been officially announced by Apple.
