Will just changing the design and increasing battery capacity be enough for Redmi 17 5G to surpass Samsung Galaxy A16 5G, realme Narzo 80x 5G or POCO M7 5G in the popular segment?
Images spread in the early days of August 2026 showed that the Redmi 17 5G model almost had its entire design revealed before Xiaomi officially announced it. According to information posted by 91mobiles, these are leaked images of the global version and are not yet official documents from Xiaomi. Therefore, all specifications and designs below should be considered as information that has not been officially confirmed.
Through leaked images, the Redmi 17 5G uses a flat frame design, a perforated screen placed in the middle, a square camera cluster with two large sensors and an LED flash. The device appears with three color options including blue, black and orange, of which the orange version is said to have a faux leather back to create a different highlight in the popular price segment.
If the leaked information is accurate, the Redmi 17 5G will focus heavily on battery life with a battery of about 7,500 mAh, supporting 45 W fast charging. The device is also said to be equipped with a 6.9-inch LCD screen with HD + resolution, maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
Regarding configuration, leaked sources said Redmi 175G can use Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. The camera system is said to include a 50 MP main camera with AI support, a QVGA secondary sensor and an 8 MP front camera. However, Xiaomi has not yet confirmed these parameters.
