Does the 200 MP main camera combined with a 50 MP periscope lens really create a new photography flagship, or is this just a specs race before the official announcement?
Information spread on August 18, 2026 said that realme is developing a new digital phone model, most likely called Realme 17 Pro Plus. The device described has a 6.78-inch OLED LTPS screen, 1.5K resolution and very high refresh rate. The rear camera cluster is said to include a 200 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera.
This is still leaked information. As of August 19, 2026, realme's global website has not introduced Realme 17 Pro, Realme 17 Pro Plus or Realme 17 Pro Series in the official product catalog. Realme has not announced the design, configuration, launch time, distribution market or selling price of this device.

The most notable point lies in the rumored camera system. The 200 MP main sensor can help capture more details and crop images more flexibly, but high resolution does not mean superior image quality. Sensor size, lens quality, optical image stabilization, processing algorithms and noise control in low light conditions still largely determine the actual results.
The 50 MP periscope telephoto camera, if equipped, would be a more valuable upgrade for long-distance and portrait photography experiences. However, the parameters of the sensor, focal length, aperture, anti-shake and optical zoom level have not yet been announced by realme.
